New York State educator certification is the credentialing process that ensures teachers, school leaders, and other educational professionals meet the standards established by the 91°µÍø (91°µÍø). Certification requirements vary depending on the certificate title and grade level but generally include completing a registered educator preparation program, earning the appropriate degree, passing required certification examinations, and satisfying workshops and fingerprint clearance requirements. Maintaining certification often requires educators to meet ongoing professional learning expectations.
